IPARK – YPIÓCA TOURIST COMPLEX

Located at the foot of the Maranguape Mountain Range, I-Park offers attractions for all tastes. Continuing along Ceará’s green route, Baturité is the ideal destination to explore the massif that bears the name of this municipality. In the Tupi language, Baturité means “True Mountain.” The region stands out for its lush green landscapes, history, and traditions.

This region was once the stronghold of the legendary chief Diabo Verde, leader of the Tabajara people, an Indigenous warrior who fought bravely during the early stages of colonization in Ceará. The Church of São Pedro and Santo Antônio (1907) recalls the early days of the municipality, which was established in 1878. Throughout the year, several religious celebrations take place in the town and its districts, including those dedicated to Saint Peter (June 29), Saint Anthony (June 13), and the Marian Month celebrations in May.

UBAJARA NATIONAL PARK

Ubajara is a fascinating destination. The harmony, tranquility, and beauty of the mountains at 847 meters above sea level enchant visitors, with mild temperatures that rarely exceed 22°C. Located 3 km from the city, Ubajara National Park covers 563 hectares of native forest and is considered one of the most beautiful protected areas in Brazil. The Frade Waterfall, Boi Morto Waterfall, and Bica do Cafundó spring form part of the landscape, blending perfectly with the lush vegetation. Taking a refreshing swim is almost inevitable. Visitors should also explore the park’s caves, true natural treasures. The Ubajara Cave, the most famous of them all, is composed of 15 large chambers and extends for 1,120 meters, with a significant portion accessible with the assistance of guides from the environmental authority. Access can be made via hiking trails or by cable car, which offers an unforgettable panoramic view of the entire plateau.

ARARIPE PLATEAU
